Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H E Ahmed Awad Issa, has lauded the strong and continuous Qatari support for Somalia, stressing that the Somali people and government thank Qatar for its distinguished, pivotal and fundamental role in enhancing security in Somalia.

H E the Somali Foreign Minister, in a press statement on the sidelines of his participation in the Doha Forum, which started  today, expressed his gratitude for participating in the Forum, especially as it reflects the Qatari role in support of world issues and being one of the most important global forums for its political and economic participation which brings together experts and specialists in the related fields.

He  denounced the negative impact and external interference in his country, noting that the Somali people are behind their leadership, rejecting the influence of any external forces on their unity and security.

The Minister said that the Somali government had managed to defeat the terrorist and extremist acts that spread during the last period and was able to strengthen the States institutions and succeeded in convincing the world through international forums to drop debts from them to start again in building modern Somalia.
