Qatar participated yesterday in the inauguration ceremony of President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H E Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud. 
Qatar was represented in the ceremony by Minister of State H E Sheikh Fahd bin Faisal Al Thani. 

During the State of Qatar’s speech at the ceremony, he congratulated the election of Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud as President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and stressed the strength of bilateral ties and the State of Qatar’s support of Somalia in all fields and its commitment to the country’s stability, progress, and prosperity. 
On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, the Somali President received Minister of State H E Sheikh Fahd bin Faisal Al Thani.
The Minister of State conveyed the congratulations and greetings of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Somali President, and His Highness’ wishes to His Excellency of success and continued progress and development for bilateral relations between the two countries.
For his part, the Somali President conveyed to the Minister of State his greetings to H H the Amir, and his wishes of good health and wellness to His Highness and further development and prosperity for the Qatari people.
The Somali President stressed the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries.
